STEM Racing launches digital learning platform

In an industry-leading development, we are proud to announce the launch of STEM Racing Learn, a new digital learning platform developed in partnership with Aston Martin Aramco Formula One™ Team and Maaden.

Bringing together the engineering expertise of motorsport and mining with the education programme supported by Formula 1®, STEM Racing Learn is the first platform of its kind and marks the beginning of an exciting tri-partnership. Together, we will deliver online learning to thousands of young people around the world.

We have developed this free-to-access platform to make high-quality STEM education more accessible and help remove the geographic and resource barriers that can prevent students from accessing leading educational opportunities.

The launch also enables Maaden – one of the world’s largest mining companies – to expand its ‘Unearth Your Greatness’ mission in partnership with Aston Martin Aramco Formula One™ Team. The initiative celebrates the engineering talent and innovation that power both Formula 1® and the development of the global mining industry.

Available from 20 October 2026, the initial launch of STEM Racing Learn will feature four modules: What is STEM Racing?, Career Pathways, The Engineering Design Process and Computer-Aided Design, with a further six modules planned for 2027/28.

Each module combines video content featuring engineers and industry experts with interactive learning activities and guided tutorials. Through these resources, learners will gain insight into the realities of STEM careers while developing practical knowledge and transferable skills to support their progression both within STEM Racing and into the wider STEM workforce.

We are launching the platform at a time when strengthening the global STEM talent pipeline has never been more important. New research from SThree, developed with the Centre for Economics and Business Research (Cebr), estimates that $5.4 trillion in STEM-related economic output could be at risk over the next decade if skills pipelines fail to keep pace with demand.

We have created STEM Racing Learn to help address this challenge by connecting young people directly with engineers and industry experts from two globally significant sectors. Through accessible digital learning, we aim to inspire the next generation of engineers, innovators and problem-solvers and help them take their first steps towards a career in STEM.

Anabelle Denford, Partnerships Director at STEM Racing, commented:

“The launch of STEM Racing Learn is one of the proudest moments in our 26-year history. The culmination of decades of experience in bringing STEM education to life for young people, we couldn’t have asked for better partners with which to work as we enter the world of digital learning.

“For students to be able to hear first-hand from engineers inside a Formula 1® team and industry-leading companies like Maaden is truly invaluable. It opens their eyes to just what a career in STEM can make possible. We hope many of those signing up to the platform leave feeling inspired and excited to get started on their STEM journeys – whether that’s in an F1® paddock in Silverstone or on a mining exploration in the Arabian Shield.”

Adrian Newey, Team Principal & Managing Technical Partner at Aston Martin Aramco Formula One™ Team, said:

“I have been a strong supporter of STEM Racing for many years, and anything that makes the content more accessible to young people is a good thing in my view. STEM Racing Learn enables you to learn at your own pace, exploring the subjects that interest you most and discovering how creativity, engineering, and innovation can come together to solve real-world challenges like the ones we face every day in Formula 1®.”

Bob Wilt, CEO at Maaden, added:

“The next generation of engineers, innovators and problem-solvers will help drive the transformation of the mining industry. That means we have a responsibility to give young people the skills, knowledge and exposure they need to understand the opportunities ahead of them. STEM Racing Learn brings that to life – connecting students directly with industry and helping them develop practical skills they can apply to real-world challenges. For Maaden, this is an investment in the talent and ideas that will power the next era of growth and innovation in our industry.”
