For Teachers
Expertly blending excitement with education, STEM Racing is a competition that teaches as it inspires.
This is a project with a purpose: it gives students the passion to embrace STEM learning and the skills to put that learning into practice.
Why Bring STEM Racing into Your Classroom?
Multidisciplinary Learning
STEM Racing goes far beyond engineering. Students explore CAD and CNC machining, brand building, project management, and presentation skills, mirroring real-world career pathways.
Low-Cost & Accessible
Designed to be achievable within any department budget, the programme provides free access to professional software, equipment support through our partners, and ready-to-use teaching resources.
Flexible Commitment
Integrate STEM Racing into your curriculum or run it as an extracurricular project - whatever works for your timetable. With just an hour a week, students can prepare for events and bring their cars to life.
A Multidisciplinary Project
Rooted in STEM, but spanning much more, STEM Racing gives students an authentic taste of the working world. They might be:
Budding product designers mastering CAD software
Future engineers applying technical regulations
Young marketeers learning to build strong brands
With teamwork at the programme’s heart, every student finds their place, while learning how to collaborate towards a shared goal.
Fun-Fuelled Events
STEM Racing events are the ultimate celebration of learning. Informative, educational, and exciting, they give students the chance to:
Present their work to industry professionals and make valuable career connections
Race their cars down a 20-metre track in front of peers and judges
Compete for prizes which include exclusive F1 experiences, scholarships with leading universities, and more
These experiences stay with students long after the day ends, and serve as inspiration and drive to pursue careers and achieve goals which may not have seemed possible before.
Accesible for All
We know accessibility matters. STEM Racing has been developed to work within school budgets, whatever their size. Together with our partners we provide:
Free professional software for every student and school
Access to CNC machines through a global network of universities and organisations
A wide range of complementary educational resources
Further learning opportunities with industry-leading organisations and universities.
“STEM Racing is an incredibly rewarding project as a teacher. Working closely with a small group of young people who are learning critical life skills and watching them develop into young adults is an absolute pleasure.”
-David Marshall, CDT Network Lead, West Lothian Linlithgow Academy
Flexible Time Commitment
The competition fits around your timetable. Whether you run it as an extracurricular club or weave it into existing classes, you decide the schedule. We recommend at least one hour a week across two half terms to give teams time to design, build, and test their cars before attending a regional final.
