Silver Racing in the paddock at the Formula 1® British Grand Prix

There’s no place like home, and that’s certainly true when it comes to the British Grand Prix at Silverstone Circuit. The birthplace of Formula 1®, and the best place in the world to be when the sun is shining and we have a jam-packed week of events, tours, and unforgettable experiences to deliver to our students.

We kicked things off in the best possible way with the STEM Racing Centre of Excellence Silverstone Experience Day – Powered by Maaden, hosted at the Aston Martin Racing Technology Centre (AMRTC) on Wednesday. With 80 students in attendance, this incredible experience gave the next generation of engineers an exclusive insight into a Formula 1 factory, as well as hearing from the inspirational Bob Wilt, CEO of Maaden, Pedro de la Rosa, Global Ambassador for Aston Martin Aramco Formula One™ Team, and James Meredith, Chief Engineer at the University of Warwick, before getting some hands-on experience in designing, making and racing their own miniature cars.

Next, we were delighted to join Aramco for an amazing interactive learning experience with our teams Atomic, Silver Racing, Team Nova, and Inspirato Racing. These students heard from a fascinating panel of Aston Martin Aramco Formula One™ Team professionals, with Jessica Hawkins, Head of F1® Academy, Karen Fink, Head of Commercial Operations, and Stephanie Travers, Trackside Fluid Engineer, all providing an insight into the very different roles they do, before they headed to the paddock and garage to gain an exclusive insight into what goes on ahead of a race.

To round off an unforgettable week, our all-girls Welsh teams, Branwen and Phoenix Fires, enjoyed an exclusive tour of the F1 Academy paddock, providing a behind-the-scenes look at one of the fastest-growing championships in motorsport and the incredible opportunities available for women in the industry.

What a week. Thank you Aston Martin Aramco Formula One™ Team, Maaden, and Aramco for inspiring over 100 young people, instilling them with a passion and a drive to pursue their dreams - whether that’s in the paddock, the factory, or anywhere else their ambitions may take the.
