Matrix Technology Solutions and STEM Racing unveil official Wind Tunnel for competitor testing

Matrix Technology Solutions Ltd, Denford Limited and STEM Racing (Formerly F1 in Schools) are excited to announce a strategic partnership focused on enhancing hands-on STEM education.
Together, we are proud to unveil the official STEM Racing Wind Tunnel - a state-of-the-art tool designed to help students test, refine, and optimise the aerodynamics of their miniature racing models.
This collaboration brings together Matrix’s expertise in engineering education technology with STEM Racing’s dynamic, competition-based learning platform. The result is a powerful educational resource that gives students a deeper understanding of air dynamics, drag, and lift, provided in a classroom-friendly, portable solution.

“This partnership is incredibly exciting for Matrix as our engineering education solutions continue to grow and evolve. From our very first conversation with STEM Racing, it was clear they we had a revolutionary idea - one that would elevate the competition experience for years to come. We’re proud to be part of this journey and to support the next generation of engineers through such an inspiring and impactful programme.” – Liam Walton, Managing Director, Matrix TSL.

The wind tunnel from Matrix, is designed for teaching aerodynamic principles and exploration of fluid flow. Created with an optimally sized testing section to house STEM Racing car models, the wind tunnel enables student teams to gather real-time aerodynamic data to inform their car designs.

“STEM Racing is all about creating engaging experiences that connect theory with real-world application. The introduction of the official STEM Racing Wind Tunnel provides students with a tool that uses state-of-the-art technology to deliver key STEM learning within the STEM Racing programme and elevate their design and engineering process for a competitive edge.
This collaboration with Matrix Technology Solutions provides students with the ability to analyse and test their designs in a controlled environment. We’re not just helping them build faster cars, we’re equipping them with critical thinking, problem-solving, and engineering skills that will benefit both their education and future careers. The wind tunnel is more than just a tool - it’s a launchpad for the next generation of innovators, and we’re excited to see the STEM Racing teams integrating the use of the STEM Racing Wind Tunnel into their F1 car R & D programmes.” - Andrew Denford, Founder and Chairman, STEM Racing Ltd.
The official STEM Racing Wind Tunnel will be available to schools, universities, clubs, and education providers.
